summer camp ready
I want to start by bragging on the students from Hungary Bible Institute. We have had groups come from Hungary for years, as well as individual students who come to serve for the summer. We had three groups come already, one for each of the winter camps this year, and then the first weekend in April we had another group come. We absolutely love when these students come. They are always so willing to serve wherever we need them, and they aren't afraid to jump in and get dirty. Four girls and four guys came Friday evening and worked all day Saturday and even Monday morning to get our campus ready for summer camp! It was an absolutely exhausting weekend, but they accomplished just on Saturday what took me weeks last year. We had a large delivery of 31 tons of coal on Thursday and the guys moved all of it into the storage spaces on Saturday!!! The girls even jumped in to help in the evening so it could all get done. It's a dirty job, and there was coal dust everywhere, but it is all done and we have heat for the next ten months or so. The girls helped Autumn and me deep clean the kitchen, as well as the cabins. This took us such a long time last year, and their help has saved us a ton of time! One of the biggest blessings was that their cook sent the machine they use to clean their floor and one of the guys cleaned our kitchen floor. I bleached that floor three or four times last year and could not get it clean. He used the pressure washer and cleaned it no problem!! It looks so nice and clean!visiting another ministry
As I finish this newsletter, I am on a bus to Vienna to catch a plane. By the time most of you read this, I will be in Ukraine! I will be there the 19th through the 27th of this month. Most of you will remember when I went to Guatemala on something called "Missions Reality" during my second year at the Bible Institute. Well, there is a group of students coming to Ukraine for their Missions Reality trip and I am joining them! I am so excited to serve with the missionaries over there and to be able to encourage them. There are over 50 missionaries on that field and students from all over Eastern Europe attend their Bible Institute. It is surely going to be a multi-cultural experience!!training leaders
While I was home for Christmas, I talked briefly about a wonderful opportunity we have to take some of our Czech young people to Portugal for Leadership Camp. We are working on setting up a special project fund for this trip, and I will share more as that becomes available. But we are super excited about this trip and we have three or four young people who are thinking about going or already committed to going! It is going to be a great week of training for these young people. We are encouraging them to consider full-time ministry, as well as supporting them in the ministry they are already doing through their local church. This camp is part of what Word of Life is for: equipping the next generation to reach their generation for Christ!a note about myself
As I mentioned in my last letter, I am working on trusting the Lord in the small things and in the details. There are a lot of those that are coming up lately as I prepare to go full-time!! But I am learning again and again how restful it is to let God take care of those details. There are not enough hours in the day to worry about every little thing that isn't my responsibility anyway. And when I let Him take care of it, I have so much more time to pour into others, be creative, and get the rest that I need.prayer requests
pray for my trip to Ukraine that travel would go smoothly and that the team from NY and myself would be an encouragement to the missionaries there and that we would be effective in ministry.pray for the trip to Portugal that people would be able to come and that it would be a time of refreshment and encouragement for them and that we would have the finances to help as many go as possible.
pray for the Cooks and the Hollomans, both families raising support in the states right now and anxious to be back here in Czech.
Thank you all so much for your continued support and prayers!!
Til next time,
Adele
