We have been super busy here getting ready for the summer camp season!! As most of our campus is not used during the winter months, there is a lot of cleaning and repair to do before the kids come in just two and a half weeks!

Our theme for camp this year is Survivor, so we are doing a lot of scavenger hunt type games and team building activities. We are also working on a night game where the kids have to build a tent (with their whole cabin) and then play a version of capture the flag. During the week at some point we are also going to do a scavenger hunt breakfast! Something along the lines of earning points or following clues to find different parts of the breakfast, like bread, jams, tea, etc. This is something that hasn't ever been done here, so I'm excited to try something new.
Camp Demo Day
Every now and again, we will have schools come to our property for a field trip. We play games with them that are similar to ones we play at camp, they get to experience our property, and just have fun. This is a wonderful opportunity to show kids how fun our camp is, they go home and tell their parents they want to come, and then we get to share the gospel with them!! Just yesterday, we had about 130 kids here from two different schools. It's very fast paced and exhausting, but the kids had so much fun!! It is totally worth it to take this step to reach these kids for Christ. The Promised News
As you all know, I will be transferring to full time missions at the end of this year. Because I am staying with Word of Life, this process is not too difficult, but there is training involved, as well as an approval process known as MIT. During this week-long session, missionary candidates are interviewed by various members of the leadership team of Word of Life and then by the board, who makes the ultimate decision. Normally for American missionaries, this happens in January or in June up in Schroon Lake (where the Bible Institute is). However, if I waited until January 2020, I would be home for about two months before I could actually start support raising. Building relationships and ministering to people in the states is super important, but it would be ideal to be back in the Czech before camp season of 2020, so the earlier I can go through the approval process the better. So I got special permission to do MIT in November in Germany!! I'm excited to get to visit another country in Europe of course, but I am also looking forward to meeting other missionaries that are going to be serving here in Europe. Then I will be coming home the very beginning of December to begin the process of raising support. I don't have firm numbers to share with you yet, but when I do I'll let you know.Prayer Requests
- for the kids coming to camp that they would have open hearts- for our team that we would be unified, patient with each other, and serving wholeheartedly
- for our volunteer staff that they would be challenged to grow (and continue to grow once the summer is over)
- for the Cook family as they continue to raise support. Their goal is to be fully funded and on their way here by November!
This will be my last newsletter til after camp, but please feel free to still contact me! I can't promise I will answer right away, but I will answer. Also, keep up with all the happenings in my facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/AdelesCzechChallenge/) or on our camp page (https://www.facebook.com/wordoflife.cz/).
Thank you all for your continued love and support. I am so thankful for each of you.
Love in Christ, Adele
