September Update

Hello everyone! It has been awhile, but there has been a lot happening!

Honza and Elyse and I had the pleasure of taking four Czechs to Portugal for Leadership Camp the middle of August. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and learning how to lead ourselves and what leading others looks like. We had a couple outings in the local town, and a few of us even got to learn how to surf! I got to spend some time with Hannah.

I went to London on vacation, which was wonderful and amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to go on vacation. I bought quite a bit of yarn (no surprise there!), took a ride on the London Eye, and tasted some of the typical food of the UK.

We sent five students to Word of Life Bible Institute in Hungary! We are all so proud of them for taking this huge step of faith and we are excited to see them grow in their walk with the Lord. Please pray for Miriam, Vlasta, Atang, Solomon, and Van as they study the Bible (in English!) and do ministry.

We hosted "Camp Summit" last week for Word of Life Europe. This is an event where the leadership from European camps come together to learn, to dream, to plan, and to fellowship. We had people from all over Europe!!! It was wonderful to host this event, to be a part of the advancement of the gospel through WOL camps across Europe.

We started our fall season of Bible clubs over the past couple weeks - Bonfire in Blansko, and AXIS in Tisnov. There are new kids coming, new Bible lessons to teach, new outreach events to plan. I enjoy attending AXIS, teaching the kids English and Biblical lessons. The young man that I mentioned in my last letter attends AXIS and I am really looking forward to watching him grow.

On a Personal Note
Over the last couple months since camp ended, I have been taking time to plan and reevaluate my next steps. I am super excited about the ministry that is happening here in Czech Republic, and I can't wait to be a part of it for many years to come. However, the last two years have been exhausting and spiritually draining. Jumping into support raising the minute I step off the plane in America is not the wisest thing for me to do right now. So, I will be delaying the approval process until June of 2020. This will give me several months to simply rest and rejuvenate. I know this decision may bring lots of questions, so I will try to answer some of them here, and I encourage you to email me, message me on Facebook, or send me a good old snail mail! This does not mean I am questioning my calling. God has called me to serve Him in Czech Republic and that fact hasn't changed. It also doesn't mean that Czech is an awful place or that the ministry is not going well. We have seen God do some incredible things in the ministry over the past several months, and we are watching God work in many smaller ways too. There are difficult things about doing ministry here, but that is true of any place that ministry is done. This wasn't a quick decision, nor was it an easy one. It has taken me months to pray over this, seek counsel, and be honest with myself about what is best.

Just a little note about honesty here. I want to be completely transparent because I am learning that an essential part of unity is honesty and transparency. And God has called His church to be united together. So, I will be honest because it opens the doors for other people to be honest too. I don't want to take a break. I want to jump into full-time support raising and get back to Czech as soon as possible. I feel selfish taking a break because people here need to hear the Gospel!!! But God is teaching me that if I don't care for myself, then I cannot properly care for others. So I will obey and I will rest.

There are four songs that have been on repeat or weeks now: "I am Loved" by Mack Brock, "Run to the Father" by Cody Carnes, "Out of Hiding" by Steffany Gretzinger, and "Who You Say I am" by Hillsong Worship. They have been such an encouragement to me, as well as great reminders that I am loved unconditionally by my heavenly Father, and I can go to Him with anything and everything. Maybe they will be encouraging to you too!

Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. I will be sending more details about this change as I know more. I would appreciate all questions to be sent to me directly through email, message, etc.

Love,
Adele
